The striking wrap-around porches and decks are reminiscent of the summer homes of old. The owners wanted the feeling of a traditional summer home, but with the design touches of today.

The grand entry beckons with wide steps that seem to fan out. This was a strategic tactic of architects Bill and Richard Tagland, so as to visually bring down the scale of the structure. The entry stair to the front door has been tucked away to make the front door more private. An elliptical window frames a view of the nearby lighthouse. That took planning! The second level is one enormous space -living/dining/kitchen- surrounded by a wide porch.. The master suite on this level provides privacy from the four bedrooms and family room on the first level. An interesting touch is the small covered porch, half a level above the second floor -perfect for viewing sunsets!
